I used to have an office overlooking the Gannel estuary in Newquay where I used to sit with the windows wide open and hear the sounds of the horse riders galloping across the banks at low tide. The families laughing and playing. As the tide comes in the wild swimmers come, they shriek and laugh together as the paddle boards and kayaks glide through the water.
This art was inspired by those mornings, watching the daughters of mermaids come and laugh together. The sisterhood that can be found in the most unlikely places.
